Unforgiven/Raw Thoughts

A super post! Here we go! I'll start with Unforgiven.

Unforgiven was interesting, wasn't it? It was. There were 2 matches where the outcome didn't surprise me much. One was Triple H vs Carlito, the other was The Undertaker vs Mark Henry. Sure I did pick Carlito to win, but really I just wanted to be different.

The Randy Orton/John Cena match really surprised me. I didn't think it was possible for John Cena to hold onto his belt for this long. Really, I didn't. He has to lose eventually, right? Or does he?

Is it possible that the WWE is understanding what we're thinking. Do you think its possible that the WWE is trying to up PPV buys by adding suspense as to when John Cena is going to lose his belt? Or are they just complete morons?

(I know I'm going a little off topic here) But how awesome will it be when the WWE gets all their superstars back. Granted I think they are doing a decent job now, especially with their limited talent. But really. HBK, Bobby Lashley, and maybe even Y2J. By the way, Jericho is in negotiation with the WWE and TNA right now. I really hope that if he comes back, he comes back to the WWE, and not to TNA. I won't bother to watch him if he's on TNA.

Back on topic now. The only other match I feel I should bother to comment on is Beth Phoenix vs Candice Michelle. This was actually a very good match, even though Candice retained. Although, if Beth didn't win the Women's Title at Unforgiven, I doubt she will at No Mercy. But yes, very good match.

Time for RAW thoughts. RAW was... good? Decent? OK? Yea, the third one, OK. RAW was OK.

In fact, last nights RAW was so OK, that I hope Coach makes a super-handicap match. Carlito, Cade, Murdoch, London, Kendrick, and Shelton Benjamin vs Triple H. That should level the playing field.

No actually we're going to watch Carlito vs Triple H in a steel cage match. That was my 2nd choice.

You know, if Triple H is going to turn on everyone, everyone should turn back. That's just how it is. Why would Triple H turned on London and Kendrick? If it wasn't for L&K he would have gotten his ass kicked.

Moving on now... John Cena vs Santino Marella? Mr. Cena vs Randy Orton (w/ John Cena handcuffed to the bottom rope)? I don't get it. Well, actually I do. The WWE is trying to add emotion into it, and it's working, sort of. Actually, it's not working. If they want to make it work, I think they should make it quicker. Don't make the whole show dwell on it.

Smackdown vs. Raw Delaye, Flair's Retirement, Jeff Hardy, Playboy, and more!

• Extreme Expose may be doing a Playboy layout leading up to WrestleMania. Should help PPV Sales some.
• Jeff Hardy has been taken off the RAW Superstars Page. Maybe his suspension has been lengthened. I had read on other websites that he was expected to return around the 1st of the month. (Which also happens to be the being of Ladder Match Month here at my blog. Sorry, I just have to plug that in as much as possible.)
• Cyber Sunday may be getting cut. There has been a lot of talk about cutting a PPV, and it would most likely be this one. They would probably just change in though, and make it a 3 hour RAW with a similar concept.
• A WWE UK Territory will likely be starting. Nothing for sure yet though.
• In the Divas Battle Royal all the usual suspects will be competing along with Extreme Expose (who sometimes compete in tri-branded Diva matches), and Cherry. This will be Cherry's first ever match as she is usually just playing the role of Deuce's girlfriend.

• Batista's new book will probably be a huge. Why? He apparently just rips on guys he hates and guys he doesn't respect in the WWE locker room. From my understanding Batista isn't well liked anyways, so I doubt this will help. This will probably cause a stir in the locker room.
• Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 may miss November deadline. Mr. McMahon is going back and forth on the decision to put Chris Benoit in the game. I had read earlier on a bunch of websites that Benoit had already been removed, but according to what I've read recently, that's not true. The reason this is such a hard decision for Vince is that if he pushes the games release back then it will miss the holiday season, a season that usually sells a lot of copies of the game.
• Last Monday night when Lawler was gone and Tazz filled in was a test. It was a test to see how well the 2 go together, and apparently some were impressed. I was. Mr. McMahon has apparently wanted them split for sometime now. If Tazz moves to RAW, Lawler would move to ECW on SciFi to team up with Joey Styles, and work occasional matches. Dusty Rhodes (the booker of ECW) really wants him there. JR and Lawler are very close however. They would probably not be happy about the split.
• Flair's retirement storyline should start soon. Maybe in the next couple of weeks. My guess is that it would end at either the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania, just because they are 2 of the big 4. The other 2 being Survivor Series and Summer Slam.
• Stephanie McMahon is pushing for D-Lo Brown to be brought up to the RAW main roster. As known, D-Lo Brown has been working dark matches for the WWE.
• The Undertaker is scheduled to have 3 major feuds upon his return. The first being Mark Henry. Taker will likely put Mark Herny out of action for good. He is likely to retire in a few weeks. His contract is due to expire. Then he should have a feud with Big Daddy V. This of course means Big Daddy V should be moving to Smackdown. Also, he will have one with The Great Khali.

Best Match: Finlay vs. Matt Hardy (even with the ending.)
Worst Match: Mark Henry vs. Jobber
Best Non-Wrestling Moment: Undertaker Returns Promo
Worst Non-Wrestling Moment: Chris Masters looking for an opponent.
Rating (out of 8): 7.3

The Good

1. Batista vs. Domino
   
   Very good match. Batista got his revenge. Not much to say about it, but that's a cool picture up above!
2. Matt Hardy vs. Finlay
   
   Really good match. Matt Hardy got some really good elbows in. Finlay tried to use Hornswoggle as a weapon, but then Jamie Noble came down and chased Hornswoggle away. I even kind of like the ending how Finlay went chasing after Jamie Noble to make sure he didn't hurt Hornswoggle.
3. Kane attacking Finlay and Finlay attacking Kane
   
   This was a lot of fun to watch, both times. It's setting up nicely for a Kane vs. Finlay angle. An angle in which I think has a lot of potential. I love watching Finlay wrestle. I feel his in ring abilities are a lot better then he gets credit for. Kane vs. Finlay should be fun. I hope they continue this, unlike Finlay vs. Flair.
4. The Undertake Returns Promo
   
   Awesome!!!! Just flat out awesome! From what I can tell it's not on YouTube yet, but as soon as it is, it will be here. It was really cool.
5. Torrie vs. Victoria
   
   Not much to say about this. Victoria ended up winning then continuing her attack on Torrie Wilson until Michelle McCool came to the rescue... Barefoot... That's right... Barefoot.
6. Ric Flair vs. The Great Khali
   
   For a match to prove how dominate The Great Khali is, it was a pretty good match. Khali using his new weapon, which I like, as a pinning technique I thought was great. They need to make some counter to Khali's head grip though. Otherwise it makes no sense. He has the wingspan so he could apply it at anytime, so what's stopping him?

The Bad

1. Mark Henry Squash
   
   This proves nothing except that Mark Henry is good on the microphone.
2. Masterlock Challenge
   
   Waste of time much? Then again, it always is.

So there you have it. More good then bad. In all seriousness, Smackdown was great! Also, this Smackdown show got really bad ratings.

Sorry, I'm only posting what I thought of Smackdown.

I think Smackdown was a little dull. I think they spent too much time on the Hardy vs. MVP match. And it was a little boring. Mark Henry is still, also, very boring.

The best part of the night was that it confirmed when Rey's return would be, even though we all already knew.
