Is every face in the WWE turning heel?

I want to remind everyone to feel free to e-mail me their questions and comments at wwegeek@gmail.com

Smackdown Thoughts

So yes, it was the Season Premiere of Smackdown. The main event was Kristal and Teddy Long attempting to get married, but then Teddy Long died... or had a heart attack... or just put his hand over his heart to say the pledge, but then forgot the words and was so embarrassed he faked a heart attack... Yea... Something like that.

Is it just me or would it have been hilariously ironic if Teddy Long had a heart attacking during the skit, and nobody broke character?

But yea, these weeks edition of Smackdown featured Maria and Jeff Hardy, and every WWE Superstar. All of the male superstars ended up leaving early, but all the Diva's stayed. I'm going to talk more about this later.

Also tonight we had Rey Mysterio and JBL fighting, but not fighting. Instead we had some Irish guy come to the ring. Interesting. I wonder if JBL is going to start wrestling again.

Overall, Smackdown was maybe a 6/10. Decent. Maria really did a good job being the host and everything.

Is every face in the WWE turning heel?

OK, so at the end of the wedding this Friday, every male in attendance left. Except a few, but they aren't important.

Doesn't this turn them heel? I mean some are already heel, but some like CM Punk and Balls Mahoney aren't heels. I just named those names because when watching a clip from the wedding on youtube I noticed them on the Ho Train.

So like, is this going to cause conflict in all the other "relationships" on TV. Like is Victoria going to dump Kenny? Or is Kelly Kelly going to dump Balls? That would really be too bad. As I have mentioned before, they are perfect for each other.

So yea, this is just a thought.

ECW Thoughts

Ladder match month is no more. I've decided that 19 days is almost a month anyways. Besides, I'm tired.

So here are my ECW thoughts.

ECW was surprisingly good, especially with how much RAW blew the night before. ECW by far has the most interesting battle for the belt of any of the brands.

The Tommy Dreamer vs Thorn vs Burke vs Richards match was great. I wonder if next week their just going to do a triple threat match, or if its going to be different. The way ECW's Cuban Dictator made it sound, it sounds like next week we could have a gimmick match of some sort... but yes... the match was great. All 4 of them are underused.

The rest of the night wasn't bad either. Balls vs Knox was actually very good. And who knew? Balls Mahoney can use a mic!

Boogeyman vs Big Daddy V was kind of weird since it was almost a complete squash match. I was expecting more, but apparently I shouldn't have.

9 Reasons why Kelly Kelly and Balls Mahoney are made for each other

So here it is. The list. The list of why Kelly Kelly and Balls Mahoney are made for each other. This is no joke, completely serious. Here we go.

  1. Their names are both insanely stupid. Balls Mahoney? Kelly Kelly? Come on! Here first and last names are the same!
  2. Kelly Kelly is obviously blind. Seriously? Have you seen Balls Mahoney? Captain Caveman? She obviously hasn't seen him.
  3. Kelly Kelly obviously has no sense of smell. So we've got Kelly down to 3 senses here. Now I'm not saying that I've smelt Balls Mahoney, but he looks like the type of guy who smells.
  4. Balls is a chair swinging freak, Kelly sometimes sits on chairs.
  5. They are on ECW so they can look as weird (or if you prefer extreme) as they want.
  6. They both have more teeth then they do brain cells. Although that one might be a little mean, probably still true. Even for Balls, who has like 7 teeth.
  7. Kelly obviously is def.... 2 senses left. But his voice isn't nice on the ears.
  8. They both get stared at quite a bit.
  9. It'd be funny as hell.

ECW 8/14 Thoughts

Best Match: Kevin Thorn vs. Stevie Richards
Worst Match: Tommy Dreamer vs. Big Daddy V
Best Non-Wrestling Moment: New ECW GM
Worst Non-Wrestling Moment: -None-
Rating (out of 8): 5

The Good

  1. New ECW General Manager

This is long overdue. I don't know why they made Estrada the GM, but I guess thats OK. It's long overdue. Although, I still have to say, that Estrada talks really slow.

In related news, if you read Jim Ross' most recent blog post, he mentioned that he thought an ECW GM is long overdue. I don't know exactly how much power he has at the WWE, but I think this is very interesting...and long overdue.
  2. Contract Signing

Morrison got OWNED... big time. Not much else to say.
  3. The Boogeyman's Promo

Again, not much to say, but it was kind of neat.
  4. Extreme Expose, The Miz, and Balls Mahoney (who happens to be the REAL face of extreme.)

This was interesting. It did a number of things. 1st, it established that The Miz is afraid of Balls Mahoney, but it also proved that Kelly Kelly is the loser of the group. The loser of the group needed to be established. It was a tossup beforehand, but probably Brooke.
The Bad
  1. Big Daddy V's Man Boobs

Sorry, someone has to say it.
  2. Big Daddy V vs. CM Punk

All this showed us is that CM Punk shouldn't be the #1 contender.
  3. Big Daddy V vs. Tommy Dreamer

Again, stupid. This isn't the Big Daddy V show. I did like the bit about him running to the ring in 60 seconds.
  4. Kevin Throne vs. Stevie Richards

I know I said it was the best match, but that's wasn't saying much last night.
  5. John Morrison vs. The Boogeyman

Bad match, and all John Morrison's fault. John Morrison has botched that kick 2 weeks in a row now.
Thoughts
  1. John Morrison really does talk to much.
  2. Big Daddy V jiggles... a lot.
  3. Why is Striker coming to the rings if he isn't going to interfere?
  4. Why is the Boogeyman changing his look weekly?
  5. What does Tazz have against soccer?

ECW One Night Stand 2006: Balls Mahoney vs. Masato Tanaka

This is the one with the amazing... amazing... chair shot. Great extreme rules match. I miss them so.

ECW 7/31: The Miz vs. Balls Mahoney Video

I thought this was a great match up until the very end. The nutcracker Suite performed by Balls Mahoney was amazing. But the finisher The Miz used was not. Even Tazz was surprised that The Miz got a pin with it.

ECW Results/Thoughts

ECW was good last night... really good. It was probably the best ECW the WWE has put out in quite a while.

Tuesday night started out with John Morrison coming to the ring to make another speech. He did a really cool "shush" thing into the microphone, but he sounded high. Not how he was talking, just what he was saying. His big announcement was that he was going to continue doing the 15 Minutes of Fame, an idea I kind of like. He also made fun of Paris Hilton in this announcement. I have to say, it was a few weeks too late.

Then Morrison's inferior opponent came to the ring. He looked really strange. Morrison had an official come to the ring, Morrison delivered a low blow, the bell rang, and then Morrison won with a Corkscrew Neckbreaker. That move is one of the cooler in the WWE today.

After Morrison finished off the jobber he went on to say htat nobody deserves to be in the same ring as him. Then Tommy Dreamer comes out and says he wants to be ECW champion more then anything. Elijah Burke also came to the ring to say he deserved a title shot. After all of that CM Punk decides he wants to play too and tells Morrison that if he can't last 15 minutes in the ring with him, then he will never challenge him again. Morrison then decides to have a triple threat match where the winner gets a 15 Minutes of Fame match with Morrison.

The next match was Stevie Richards vs. Kevin Thorn. Although Stevie Richards got a cheap win, it was a very good match. Mostly one sided, but very violent. And although I don't have much to say about it, it was very good.

Also on the Extreme Agenda was Big Daddy V (with Matt Striker) vs. 3 jobbers. Boring match. Extreme one sided. Violent at times, gross at other. It started out though with 3 bad headbuts by Big Daddy V, but eventually got a little better. After the match though the Boogeyman made a return to ECW, this time with a new look. They took all of the yellow paint out of his face. I think it makes him look like he's wearing a mast, but it's cool. Very... "Boogey"...

After Extreme Expose danced around, The Miz came out. He had a match against non-other then Balls Mahoney. Obviously the WWE writers have been reading this blog. Also, it was a very nice transition from the Extreme Expose dancers to the match. During this match there was an amazing Nutcracker Sweet. Amazing. Brilliant even. But then they just had to go screw it up with the end. The move The Miz used to finish off Balls wasn't very high impact at all. Also, why are they letting The Miz win this match? What are they going to do? Give him a main event push? They shouldn't.

What the WWE should do instead is give Balls a main event push. Recently WWE had a poll on there website asking who was the true face of Extreme. The answer, by far, Balls Mahoney. He had almost 80%. I think Tommy Dreamer was 2nd with less then 10%.

Finally, the main event was awesome. CM Punk vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Elijah Burke. It was a great match. Burke did an awesome handstand. It was great.
