Big Returns Coming

Yea. So the WWE is pretty much set here. Look at this list. All these WWE superstars are returning to action, or coming to acting for the first time, sometime this year.

  • Triple H
  • Rey Mysterio
  • Shawn Michaels
  • The Undertaker
  • Edge
  • Bobby Lashley
  • Jeff Hardy
  • Ashley (She should be returning. It probably depends on what her contract with the Survivor people says she can do.)
  • Hardcore Holly
  • Jesse and Festus (These guys better be good.)
  • and Marcus Cor Von
All that this year. Seems to me like ratings should stay solid the rest of the year. I hope the WWE doesn't feel the need to bring all of these wrestlers to the WWE on PPV's like they do Triple H and Rey Mysterio.

What I think of the Cruiserweight Championship

Before I write this article on the Cruiserweight Championship, please remember a number of things.

  1. September is Ladder Match Month here, that means that every day I will post a video of some ladder match.
  2. If you have a MySpace, become my friend here, http://www.myspace.com/thewwegeek.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What do I think of the Cruiserweight Championship? It should be dropped. Or at least changed. Actually I think changed is the correct answer.

But changed to what? A while ago I posted a list of titles I think the WWE could consider adding. (Speaking of titles, apparently the WWE is going to stop putting names on the titles. Sorry I informed you all of that in middle of another blog post, but I didn't want to make a whole blog post just about this.)

But I was talking about changing the Cruiserweight Campionship, wasn't I? Yes. What do I think it should be changed to? I think it should be the opposite of a Cruiserweight Championship. I think it should be a Super-Heavyweight Championship. If it makes it easier, we could also change the name of the other one from World Heavyweight Championship to just World Championship.

Let's define "Super-Heavyweight" as 275 pounds or more. Often, it is defined as 300 pounds or more, but for this lets just go 275. Lets look at a list of wrestlers who are billed at 275+.
  • Batista, 290 lbs, Smackdown!
  • Chris Masters, 275 lbs, Smackdown!
  • Chuck Palumbo, 285 lbs, Smackdown!
  • Kane, 326 lbs, Smackdown!
  • Mark Henry, 380 lbs, Smackdown!
  • The Undertaker, 305 lbs, Smackdown!
  • The Great Khali, 420 lbs, Smackdown!
  • Big Daddy V, 485 lbs, ECW
  • Snitsky, 307 lbs, RAW
  • Shad, 285 lbs, RAW
  • Umaga, 348 lbs, RAW
As you can see, only 4 of the 11 are not on Smackdown. Also, I heard a rumor today that Big Daddy V will move from ECW to Smackdown later this year. So really it's like 8 of 11 are from Smackdown. Amazing.

Now as for contenders, you can probably cross Chris Masters off the list because he is fairly small compared to the rest of these guys. You could cross Big Daddy V, Snitsky, Shad, and Umaga off the list just because they are on different brands. Big Daddy V will probably switch brands, and if they actually created this belt, I bet Snitsky would move from RAW to Smackdown in order to compete for this belt. Chuck Palumbo could probably be taken off the list too. He's fairly small too. Even if he was consider "just right", he'll probably make a run at the US Championship before anything else. I predict by the end of the year Chuck Palumbo will have won a championship.

But also this lets some other quality wrestlers go after the World Championship. Such as Finlay, Matt Hardy, Chuck Palumbo (yes, to me he is already on this list), Chavo, Rey Mysterio, Edge (upon his return), and Ric Flair. Wooooooo!

Old WWF Mankind vs. The Rock Promo

This is one of the better promos you will ever see... good memories.

List of Mick Foley's Wrestling Injuries

Well, I have seen this published a lot of places, so I figured why not post it here. Reading this just makes me sick...

  • In July 1986 in Quencas, Ecuador Mick suffered a concussion.

  • Once again Mick suffers a concussion, but this time in Providence, Rhode Island, August 1986.

  • Mick suffered a broken right wrist in May of 1989.

  • In December 1997, Mick suffers some broken ribs.

  • King of the Ring 1998, June 28. In the unforgettable Hell in the Cell match, Mick suffered a concussion, dislocated his left shoulder, bruised some ribs, internal bleeding, numerous puncture wounds, and dislocated his jaw, which was put in place during the match. And various reports state that Mick lost between one and a half teeth to three teeths.

  • At Over the Edge, IYH 22, May 31, 1998, during the heated contest with Steve Austin - Mick suffered a broken cheekbone.

Most Underused WWE Stars (Part 1)

Now, by underused talent, I don't mean talent that's not being used. I mean talent that's not being used, and should be used.

  1. Mr. Kennedy

From my understanding, this is going to change in the near future, but at the time this is true. He is easily the most under-used superstar on the WWE roster. He has to be one of the best with the microphone since The Rock. Plus, it would be very easy to make him go from heel to face at any time.

If I were writing the storyline, which I should be, I would be slapping the belt on Mr. Kennedy real soon. What I want to see is Mr. Kennedy winning the belt before Survivor Series. Winning it from Randy Orton. Just to repeat myself, I'll type it again. I want Randy Orton to take the belt from John Cena. Then I want Mr. Kennedy to take the belt away from Randy Orton between then and Survivor Series. At Survivor Series I want Mr. Kennedy vs. Triple H.

Also, sometime before Mr. Kennedy is all washed up, I'd like to see Mr. Kennedy make a run as a face. I think his microphone skills give him a lot of potential in that area. Just picture this... Mr. Kennedy shouting his name before a match... Everyone in the arena... Is saying it with him. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a good idea.
  2. Mickie James

She is arguably the best Diva on the WWE's roster, and by arguably I mean it's either her or Melina. She's not in the ring because she's hot, she's in the ring because she's good great.

If I was writing the storyline, which again I'm not, I would have her go back to being psychotic. That was fun. Also, along with making her crazy, I would give the WWE Women's Championship back to her. She deserves it. I'd have her turn on Candice. Granted, that'd turn her into a heel, but nobody likes Candice... right? You could also not make her side with Melina. Right now the Diva's division seems like Team Melina (lead by Melina) vs. Team Candice (lead by Mickie James). That gets got old a long time ago.

Another thing I'd do with her, ignore how that sounds, is I would let her win the IC Championship. As crazy as that is, I think with the right storyline, she could do it. It'd have to be some IC Championship open, and she'd have to pull a Hornswoggle, but I think it'd be OK.
This is part one, part two soon.

The Undertaker Returns at Unforgiven Promo

This is the awesome promo I was telling you about. You probably shouldn't watch this late at night.

ECW 8/14 Thoughts

Best Match: Kevin Thorn vs. Stevie Richards
Worst Match: Tommy Dreamer vs. Big Daddy V
Best Non-Wrestling Moment: New ECW GM
Worst Non-Wrestling Moment: -None-
Rating (out of 8): 5

The Good

  1. New ECW General Manager

This is long overdue. I don't know why they made Estrada the GM, but I guess thats OK. It's long overdue. Although, I still have to say, that Estrada talks really slow.

In related news, if you read Jim Ross' most recent blog post, he mentioned that he thought an ECW GM is long overdue. I don't know exactly how much power he has at the WWE, but I think this is very interesting...and long overdue.
  2. Contract Signing

Morrison got OWNED... big time. Not much else to say.
  3. The Boogeyman's Promo

Again, not much to say, but it was kind of neat.
  4. Extreme Expose, The Miz, and Balls Mahoney (who happens to be the REAL face of extreme.)

This was interesting. It did a number of things. 1st, it established that The Miz is afraid of Balls Mahoney, but it also proved that Kelly Kelly is the loser of the group. The loser of the group needed to be established. It was a tossup beforehand, but probably Brooke.
The Bad
  1. Big Daddy V's Man Boobs

Sorry, someone has to say it.
  2. Big Daddy V vs. CM Punk

All this showed us is that CM Punk shouldn't be the #1 contender.
  3. Big Daddy V vs. Tommy Dreamer

Again, stupid. This isn't the Big Daddy V show. I did like the bit about him running to the ring in 60 seconds.
  4. Kevin Throne vs. Stevie Richards

I know I said it was the best match, but that's wasn't saying much last night.
  5. John Morrison vs. The Boogeyman

Bad match, and all John Morrison's fault. John Morrison has botched that kick 2 weeks in a row now.
Thoughts
  1. John Morrison really does talk to much.
  2. Big Daddy V jiggles... a lot.
  3. Why is Striker coming to the rings if he isn't going to interfere?
  4. Why is the Boogeyman changing his look weekly?
  5. What does Tazz have against soccer?

RAW Thoughts

RAW was really good last night.

Best Match: Mr. Kennedy vs. The Sandman
Worst Match: Snitsky vs. One of the Highlanders
Best Non-Wrestling Moment: The McMahon Segments
Worst Non-Wrestling Moment: JBL and Michael Cole Singing
Rating (out of 8): 6

The Good

  1. All of the Mr. McMahon Segments

The first one was great. Stephanie McMahon did a good job selling it. I loved the stare-down between McMahon and Kennedy though. Good job dropping hints. I also loved how he looked at Mark Henry, that's a funny thought.

Most of the other segments were good as well. The Boogeyman's always funny backstage. It was also funny watching Mr. McMahon talk about his experiences.
  2. Mr. Kennedy vs. The Sandman

Te first match, and the match of the night. Mr. Kennedy is main event quality.
  3. Cryme Tyme vs. Cade and Murdoch

Good tag team match. Cryme Tyme is very good in the ring. Fun to watch too. Cade and Murdoch do bore me still though.
  4. WWE Idol

I know most probably didn't like this, but I thought it was great. They made great use of WWE legends. And although I'm upset Mick Foley wasn't in a match, and from what I hear he wasn't in a match at SNME, he was very funny. It's also nice to know that he knows he will do anything for money. You could probably argue that all of these legends are too good for this, and that's true, but if they were in the ring you'd argue that they were too old for this. So this is probably OK.

Also, Maria is very funny. I think they should keep using her in roles such as this. I'm hoping the next segment will be WWE's Next Top Model.
The Bad
  1. Cody Rhodes vs. Charlie Haas

Really bad. Charlie Haas was off his game. Cody was actually very good himself.
  2. King Booker and King Lawler Segment

This was bad for only one reason. No Game? Where was he? This would have been the perfect time to bring him in with his sledgehammer. At MSG! It would have been perfect!
  3. No Diva's Match

I put this under bad because the Diva's division still has some talent on RAW.
  4. John Cena and Umaga vs. Randy Orton and Carlito.

I just wasn't into it. It could have been better. It also didn't do a good job of turning Umaga face.
My Thoughts
  1. Are Maria and Ron Simmons really going to walk around together?
  2. Shad and JTG are both very good with the microphone.
  3. Santino Marella is not very good with the microphone.
  4. Nothing about Jillian doesn't look fake. Her wrestling, and other parts of her...
  5. Is Lillian actually going to sing a song from her album to promote it? Or are they just going to call her a bad singer and a prostitute?

*Possible HUGE Spoiler for No Mercy 2007*

OK. So I was reading through the Wikipedia pages on all of the WWE PPV's. I got to No Mercy 2007, and this is what I read. Here is a link to the page.

Under "Matches" it has this to say.

-WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple H

-World Heavyweight Championship Match: Rey Mysterio (c) vs. The Undertaker

-ECW Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk (c) vs. Kevin Thorn

-Kane vs. Chris Masters

-#1 Contendor for World Heavyweight Championship: Mark Henry vs. Edge (Which seems to contradict the 2nd match in a way, but it also could possibly not.)

That's all. I'm really wondering how they are planning on giving Chris Masters a push. Actually most of this seems pretty random except for Randy Orton vs. Triple H. So, if this is the real deal, then good job WWE.

*AS I WAS ORIGINALLY WRITING THIS THESE MATCHES WERE ADDED*

-#1 Contender match for the WWE Championship: John Cena vs. Umaga vs. Carlito

-Shawn Michaels vs. Bobby Lashley

-US Championship Match: MVP (c) vs. Matt Hardy

-Hornswoggle vs. Finlay (Yea... I should never put much stock into what Wikipedia says)
------------------------------------------------------------

Also don't forget a number of things. #1, September is Ladder Match Month here at my blog. Everyday I will post the videos of a ladder match. #2, check out my MySpace page, and become my friend. Here is the URL. http://www.myspace.com/thewwegeek

Huge RAW Preview... What to expect.

There are a number of things I must address.

- D'Lo Brown is backstage at RAW tonight. He arrived with Ron Simmons earlier. He is more then likely just visiting, as he hasn't had a WWE contract since 2003.

-The Iron Sheik has arrived at MSG. Expect him to make an appearance at tonight's RAW, or SNME, or both.

-Mick Foley has arrived at MSG. Expect him also to make an appearance at tonight's RAW, SNME, or both.

-Expect a lot of Mr. McMahon tonight.

-Also, depending on how far they go in the McMahon's child storyline tonight, you may need to expect a lot of Mr. Kennedy. Even if they don't get that far, still expect him to appear.

-Possibly expect Stephanie McMahon, and maybe even Shane McMahon. I doubt it, because I have heard no rumors about it, but maybe even expect Linda McMahon.

-Expect more William Regal.

-Expect to not see Coach. I have heard different rumors about this one. I have heard that he may not be there, and I have heard that he may. I have read that he got a different job however.

-Expect a decent show.

-Expect... The Return of The Game.

Blog about J.R.'s Blog

Here is the link to J.R.'s most recent blog post.

On Val Venis

"I have no idea why the talented Val Venis rarely gets no more than a cup of coffee on TV. If Val had angered someone he would have simply been released but that is not the case. Val could arguably be one of the WWE’s most underutilized talents."

On RVD

"I would not, nor do I know of RVD’s future plans. You need to ask him. Your guess is as good as mine. I do feel Rob will definitely be back in the ring some day, but for whom and where is Rob’s call"

On the WWE Dating Game

"I don’t think we have seen the last of the “Dating Game” type of concepts on Monday Night Raw. Some people like them and some people prefer main line wrestling. I feel that there needs to be a balance between the steak and the sizzle. That’s a daunting task to say the least."

I promise you I won't post too many videos from TNA, but this one I could not resist.

September: Ladder Match Month

So big news! I am declaring September my official "Ladder Match Month".

Every day in September, I am going to post a video of a ladder match. Just to warn you, I may post a video of a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.

Enjoy!

Jeff Hardy vs. RVD Ladder Match for Intercontinental Championship

A Look at Foreign Objects: Hornswoggle

That's right! Hornswoggle is a foreign object!

He is billed at 3' 11" and 119 pounds.

He is the current Cruiserweight Champion of the world. He won this title by winning a Cruiserweight open, a match he spent the majority of the time under the ring for.

He is the youngest Cruiserweight champion ever, 21 years and 51 days. He is also the smallest person ever to win a WWE championship, and also the first "little person".

Hornswoggle however, is probably best known as the leprechan who is always coming out from under the ring, and pouncing on Finlay's opponents. He is also known as the "Little Bastard".

Enjoy this video of Hornswoggle vs. Little Boogey.
